Final Proposal

Final Proposal

Q For your final paper proposal, please submit to me an informal paragraph telling me what you would like to research for your final paper. The instructions for the final research paper are posted in Assignments under Final Paper. In this proposal/paragraph, I need to know 1) what conflict you will look at, 2) what questions you will seek to answer (a set of sample questions is included in the final paper instructions), and 3) what connections you wish to make between your research and the readings (in other words, how the issues we’ve discussed so far in class can be used to frame your analysis of the conflict you’ve researched. This will make more sense once you’ve read the final paper instructions.). This proposal will be graded like Discussion board- you must provide all three of these pieces of information to get full credit. I ask for a minimum of a paragraph, but the more thought you put into this and the more you want to tell me about your project, obviously the better my feedback can be, so feel free to go beyond a paragraph if you like (but try to keep it shorter than a dissertation ?). And as always, don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have!

For my final research paper, I wish to explore Bangladesh’s liberation war of 1971 and its long-term impacts on women. As a very small country in the magnanimous continent of Asia, Bangladeshi women have suffered one of the most heinous crimes in the name of religion and politics there is to tell. The root of this conflict is deeply ingrained in 1946, about the time that colonised India gained freedom from Britain. The source of conflict began after the partition of the nations, as East Pakistan (Now Bangladesh) was separated from modern Bengal based on their religious similarity with Pakistan.
